Ysabellabrave Community

OK, a little mild criticism of this site.  I have been a member for 18 months now, and it's simply wonderful to meet other Ysabellabrave fans in this forum.  I have made some very wonderful friendships with a number of other fans.

But most of the traffic I read is directed toward MaryAnne ("when are you going to tour, when are you going to play in Cincinnati,  or  London, or Stuttgart,  or Sydney; I want your CD, coffee mug, etc").  That's all well and good, and I'm sure she adores the adulation,  but I think we are unfairly  putting MaryAnne somewhat on the spot here, because she has no PR organization, and no plans for world tours at present.  She has a CD of her own material, but there are legal issues she also has to deal with before launch.

She is simply a Youtube prodigy who produces this wonderful music from her apartment, and has become a world star on her sheer talent alone.

She and she alone will decide when to re-launch her career  After a set-back last year from a major record label, where she recorded a CD,  she has been involved in legal fights and who knows what.

We need to give her her space.

Meanwhile, she will grace our Youtube screen with brilliant fortnightly song videos, like the trouper she is.  She loves what she is doing, and, more importantly -- she knows that she makes a difference in our lives.   That's her mission in life, from God.

I have known a few music stars like her before --but none so dedicated to her fans like she is. If you don't see her posting often on this site, it's because she's so busy answering comments to her videos.  She's remarkably accesible if you write her personally.

So I would like to propose a truce on demands for fan requests, at least until she re-positions herself for stardom.  And she will.  We all have faith in that.

Meanwhile we all are a community. Let's celebrate how we have all come together, from all walks of life and from around the world.  In case I misunderstood, that is what I think she wanted for this site to be about.

It's wonderful to welcome new members from the international community. Let's become friends, and share our interests.   For example, how did you come to Ysabellabrave, and why?  What other types of music do you listen to?  What are some of your other interests?  It's not verboten here to discuss other topics.

There are so many other interesting life stories in this group, that it's not necessary to think that everything has to be on-topic with Ysabellabrave.  I think this website got stalled because everyone felt compelled to make all of their remarks concerning Ysabellabrave, when I am sure that she never wanted that.  In fact, I know she never wanted that.

Our purpose here is to discuss who we are, and which other common interests we share; so that we can become a community and not just a fan club.

I, for example, came to Ysabellabrave because I like what I call "forgotten" popular music of the early 20th century --including Cole Porter and many other songwriters.   My Youtube site, "Bobchai", is dedicated to that:

What about the rest of you?  Can't we form a community?  And just leave, with encouragement and love,  Ysabellabrave to re-invent herself, as she always does, until she finally hits her stride?  You know she will.  On that we are certain.   She is the brightest light of a generation.

Greetings:

You are correct, Bob. I am also aware the expense of Friskies will be increasing once the new SUV is in production.

Programs are available that recognize the random patter of a cat's feet on the keyboard and prevent them from inadvertently reformatting your hard drive, investing in catnip futures, etc.

Speaking of investing, Billy the Kid/Noah's post, below, raises an important point. It is high time for folks to put their money where their mouth is. If anyone has not yet compensated Ysabella Brave through her PayPal link, let us get on the stick here.

No amount is too small, no amount is great enough. We have all received far more value from her than the current level of the national debt. On a moral level, she is entitled to payment for all her intellectual material which we have been enjoying without solicitation.

Clamchucker: Deep thanks for this post. We, you and I, have already been in contact privately, and you are so right-on with your comments. MaryAnne is one of the most remarkable people to touch our lives and make a difference.

Mun-ha and Champion and Shredder have been left out of your scenario, however, and your paragraph about buying the groceries and paying the bills, omits some of the more important figures and expenses of the YB household.

Cat food.

Mun-ha knows how to type on a keyboard, LOL. A friend of YB told me, a few months ago. Don't ask me why I know this, but I have it on good authority, eyewitness accounts. Mun-ha may have been responsible for making YBs videos disappear from this site, as revenge for being left home alone on her vacation. Cats are smarter than we are led to believe.

Although all the praises of words to MaryAnne are good (and should be said), and she appreciates all the kind words her fans say to/for, and about her, we tend to forget/ignore one important thing. What she has given to so many, she has done at no cost to us, but she has paid for everything out of her own pocket. And, she can stop anytime, if she should chose to do so. She does not expect to be paid for the high quality work she so generously gives us. She has told us she has nothing to sell, nor can anyone expect to get something from her if they should contribute a gift to her.

She could have easily made a very good living with her very talent gifts, had she compromised her Integrity, and let the music business mold her into a “Heather Courage”. But she knows she must always follow her own heart, and do what is right, because it is right.

I am saying this, because I read constantly much praise about MaryAnne from her fans, while at the same time, always enjoying what she has given, at no cost to her fans.

How many can say they have gone to a concert, or acquired a DVD or CD of such great talent at no cost to them? And yet, they think nothing about plopping down the bucks for a Britney Spears or Any Winehouse concert or CD.

I am not casting any dispersion on them, but only using them as examples of comparison as to who has real raw talent and makes no money at it, but gives it away freely, and those who have been made to appear as though they have more talent than they really do by the “MACHINE” music industry applying glitter and mirrors to a “Heather Courage” created image.

Yet, many of MaryAnne’s fans never give it a second thought to even compensate her in a tangible way, even with just a small gift. She does have a PALPAL link at her YouTube channel for anyone who really realizes she is truly the kind of star who should be compensates just as much as the no-talented entertainers we constantly see and read about in the news, who make big bucks in spite of their no-talent remake “Heather Courage” image created by the music industry “MACHINE”.

So…, my objective to adding my two cents in this post is to hopefully, stir the consciousness of MaryAnne’s fans to realize she deserves tangible compensation for her real talent just as much. Why should we enjoy such a beautiful spirit, and not show her in a tangible way and not just with words, but with a love gift, even if it is just a small one.

After all, she is a very heard working girl who has to watch her pennies just like most of us. Just because she works for Yahoo, in one of the highest cost of living areas (Silicon Valley) in the US, doesn’t mean she is rolling in dough. The cost of living there is higher than most other parts of the US.

For anyone who thinks I’m out of line, don’t expect me to apologize. A labor is worthy of their hire. It is the right thing to do, because it is the right thing to do. That’s part of Integrity. If you feel the same way, spread the word to others, and please give generously as your heart will allow you to give, expecting nothing in return. As you do to/for others, you do to/for yourself. Thanks for listening :)

Bob:

I do not see your post as criticism in the least. On the contrary, it is a thoughtful analysis and serves as a reminder to us all as to the true purpose of this community.

If you stop to think about it, the object of our affection is daily scanning and replying to the YouTube comments. Some of these comments regard work she released over a year ago. She already stated in one release that she received “20,000 pieces of e-mail,” so she is reading and responding to e-mail, in addition to the comments. This she has done for you, me, and others in our community.

Her subscribership, as of this writing, just crossed 34,000. That does not include non-subscribers who are probably commenting and contacting her as well. She is also monitoring the web in general. It took her only a week to find and respond to my little blog regarding her. In addition to that, she is monitoring and responding to the Ysabella Brave Community.

I am just warming up here. She is producing at least three videos a month. In the last month she released a collaborative video which, discounting the physical production time, probably involved more volumes of e-mail. On top of that, let us not forget she has a nine to five day job at Yahoo. If that is not enough, she has recently squeezed in two well deserved, overdue vacations!

She stated she has been through nine lawyers in her ongoing battle with the snakes in the recording industry. Those clowns really know how to waste your time. Each time she hires a new lawyer requires all that redundant conferencing. Just dealing with those legal-eagles alone would wear me out. The stress must be unbearable.

She has to buy groceries, prepare her meals, pay her bills, clean the apartment, tend to her family, sleep, and find time to sit on the john, just like the rest of us. All of this and she has been recovering from recent illness. I did a lot when I was 28 years old, and sometimes wonder how I accomplished what I did back then. Compared to our girl I only accomplished two to three per cent of that which I should have.

Is it any wonder we all stand in awe of her creative abilities? Yet she apologizes to us for taking a vacation. Perhaps it is time to apply to the Vatican for her beatification she has to be a saint!

Although I have only been a “member” of this community for a scant few weeks, I have lurked here for the past year. This seems to be the “old guard” of Ysabella Brave’s fans. You are absolutely correct. We should appreciate all she does without bogging her down. We should utilize this forum in a manner consistent with its intent. The girl has way too much on her mind already. We know where we stand. I support your thesis 250%. Thank you for reminding us.
